Verizon customer service is worst among TMobile and ATT

Right after one year contract with Verizon, I ended the service. but Verizon still wants to charge me one more month fee because I didn't end the service on the last day of minimum term, but the next day after minimum term. It's the worst service ever!!! I have been with TMobile and ATT. Theire customer service always answer my questions and find good solutions for me. Verizon? the custom service first said i didn't pay my bills in advance. After going through all the bills, then they changed their answer and said I should pay one more month because I didn't end my service "timely". OMG, I guess if I ended on the last day of minimum term, they would say I didn't complete one year contract and find another way to charge me. Are you crazy? You can't make money by providing good service but through stealing moeny from customers' pocket? I also saw on internet, many other Verizon problems, like extra data fee, etc...

Will never swtich back to Verizon, and will recommand all my friends not to use Verizon.

Re: Verizon customer service is worst among TMobile and ATT

Uhhh The date of Nov 13th is written in sharpie on the back of my battery for my AT&T Razr.

I can see it because the phone will only work if the battery cover is removed. Been that way for over a year. It was made very clear to me that, despite the fact my phones are barely functioning it does not matter.  The  fact I cannot get a signal at my  new home after I moved is MY problem.  The fact that voicemails sometimes take days to show up and texts often come in without notification is MY problem.  The fact that my father who was on my share plan DIED during the term was MY problem and I still have to pay for his phone.  Also, it was never disclosed to me that the AT&T carrier [Comporium] in my home area was AT&T but  was not REALLY AT&T so I could not take advantage of any of their promotions - so when I had a SIM card go out I had to drive 2 hours to get it replaced.

Enough said. Coming back to Verizon who let me out of a contract when I could not get service at my then address - this was after analogs went down and after my ancient Nokias that got great reception died [nothing equaled those little candy bar phones]

My only complaints are Ithe apparent to me decline in general cell phone signal quality over the years.  [maybe lowering the SAR makes the phone reception worse, maybe interference because everyone has a cell now - I don't know?] - - -

and was the Verizon reps at the Rock Hill, SC store lying to me about "plans" to build a new tower in the Fort Mill SC area which is ruled by Comporium [who was the AT&T provider in that area].  Part of how I got out of my contract was when Verizon Customer Service on the phone confirmed there were not ANY plans to add cell towers in that area, a known dead zone.

Re: Verizon customer service is worst among TMobile and ATT

I have been a VZ user for a long time.  I am contemplating changing carriers.

I cannot seem to find a phone that actually WORKS all the time!  I have had the EnV2 replaced twice and so has my husband.  Now we have Motorola Rivals (that we had to pay for since our others kept crapping) and they are proving to not be any better!

Verizon reps dont seem to care, and neither does the company.  I have paid Verizon almost $4k in the last 18months and I still cant seem to get a good working phone!!

So many of the replies have NOTHING to do with the original post, but here's my take:

If you simply cancel the service, you will be cancelled on the last day of your billing cycle since the service is billed a month in advance.

If you PORT your  number to another carrier, your account is cancelled that day, so you would be refunded the difference for anything you paid in advance.  You just have to port after the contract is up or you will pay the ETF fee.

[edit] Utilities including water and electric are billed a month in advance.  When people read the meters, you get adjustments on the next bill for using more or less.  With the exception of porting the numbers around, most carriers do the same thing.  Sounds like you would be a good candidate for prepaid service where you don't have to worry about about a contract.
